Justin Coutts
Platform Value Architect
Justin Coutts is a Platform Value Architect at Launchworks & Co and specialises in Pricing, Economics and Strategy. Justin has 15 years’ experience working with blue chip companies, regulators and governments both as an executive and an external advisor. His areas of expertise include pricing and value development for multisided platforms, economic analysis of business strategies, institutional design and regulatory advice.
Prior to joining Launchworks & Co, Justin worked for six years at American Express developing pricing and revenue management initiatives, new product innovation and strategy, as well as corporate payment and co-brand strategies. Previously Justin was an economic consultant with LECG Europe (now FTI) and advised clients on multisided platform strategy, regulation, litigation and damages analysis, public policy and institutional design. Justin has also worked at the New Zealand Treasury on a range of economic and public policy issues.
At Launchworks & Co, Justin specialises in building platform value through understanding key customer needs, the exchange of value across platform customers and the design of pricing and products to maximise interactions and trust on platforms. This includes the development and testing of pricing and value features to build critical mass, balance platform participation amongst different customer groups and build sustainable revenue streams.
Justin has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from University of Auckland, a Certificate in IT Applications and E-Commerce from the University of London and has studied Law and Economics at Victoria University.
